Chicken Wire

I have seen many cool ideas for hanging photos and such on line.  I gravitated towards the ones made of chicken wire because I adore chicken wire!

I had this extra frame from my daughter's room prior to its last makeover.  It had a mirror in it, but it broke (which explains a LOT of what has been going on lately).  I sanded down the hot pink and painted flamingos and covered it with primer and some heirloom white spray paint (Rustoleum).  Then I took the hammer to it to bang it up a little.  A bit of stain and then I passed it to my hubby.  He stapled chicken wire to the back of it and then decided it was too dangerous in it's current state, so he cut some extra trim boards that we had and sandwiched the wire between the two frames.  I like that it looks more rustic now.  Anyhoo, it was still looking blaaaaaah, so I made some small flowers from drop cloth fabric and hot glued them to the front. I intended for the photos and mementos to be held with clothespins.  To make it a little more special, I took a stamp that I have with french script on it and stamped both sides of the clothespins.  Now it definitely looks more special!

I have no idea as to what this says, but I like it!

So what do you think??  My daughter didn't like it at first, but now is hinting she wants it in her French/Vintage inspired room!

COST:

Everything for this project I had on hand already, with the exception of the chicken wire.  That was $5.00 and I have plenty left for other projects!

I am linking up to the following parties.  Check them out!
