A Blanket for Audrey

I got to slow down a while making this blanket and took two weeks to finish it.  Crocheted quite a few rows the first weekend and then determined that I would need to crochet four rows each evening after work so I could finish it in two weeks.  I used a much thinner yarn this time, so I doubled the yarn and it came out weighing close to what the first one weighed.  The baby's nursery is done in lilac and cream, so I thought this would work.  The yarn is so soft and feels a bit like chenille.

This weekend I spotted a woman wearing an knitted wrap and I was coveting it.  I know only basics in knitting: knitting, purling.  This was a definitely made in a stitch that I couldn't identify and then I thought to myself that I could make something similar with crochet.  It was more about the texture and the color that I envied more than the actual stitch.  So, after I finish some furniture pieces that have been sitting around since late last summer, I am jumping on that.  As long as I have it finished by fall, I will be happy.

So here is Audrey's baby blanket............

Isn't it sweet?

I am linking up to these parties.  Check them out!
